A Therapeutic Pareidolia Art Class
Pareidolia: a psychological phenomenon that causes people to see patterns in random or ambiguous visuals. This often leads to people assigning human characteristics or animals to objects and shapes.
My art workshop is a guided, fun, creative experience. It is designed to support healing, emotional regulation, and integration through flow state art.
Participants choose from wood-grain prints and intuitively enhance the imagery they see using paint pens, markers, and colored pencils. With ambient music and light guidance, the process invites child-like wonder, personal symbolism, and insight to emerge naturally.
This practice becomes a form of active meditation, quieting the mind. People reconnect with the natural human ability to find meaning in organic patterns. Engaging curiosity and intuition rather than pressure or performance. No artistic experience is necessary.
Inspired by my series Translating For Trees, this technique became a core part of my healing, allowing me to move grief without reliving it. It’s why sharing flow state with others means so much to me.
My experience Teaching:
I’m passionate about bringing this work to under privlaged, recovery, and wellness communities. I spent 10 years doing art with youth at a homeless shelter and have recently led classes in a high school and a women’s recovery home.
I also teach through the Denver Art Society, Airbnb Experiences, and Hoamsy. Creating space for others to access flow, expression, and healing is what matters most to me.
